Greetings!
This is my first attempt at “Blogging”. I am soloing today! This effort was suggested by my daughter Joan, and Joan’s and Manny’s daughter, Melissa. The thrill and excitement are similar to the same emotions that I remember having back in May, 1945, on my first solo flight in a Stearman PT-17 - a bi-plane workhorse. This ride took place at Rankin Field (Tulare) during my Primary- Flight Training. It was here where I met my wife to be - Marie Jaynes.

Good job, Grandpa! I look forward to checking out you blog and reading all your thoughts!
Hi Ray,
I am the father of Ryan Parr, Melissa's friend. I really like your granddaughter and just met your daughter Joan and husband Manny as well as granddaughters Britney and Michelle. They are a beautiful family.
I enjoyed reading your blog, especially about your brother. He must have been a special person to be in your thoughts all these years later.
You and I are fellow scorpios and genealogists. Just out of curiosity, do you like music and an occassional scotch and soda as well?
Keep up the good work and maybe we will have a chance to personally meet some day and talk about family history.
I am so proud of you Dad! Wow, to start a blog at 88 years old is amazing. I enjoyed reading the stories you've posted so far. It felt good to read about and remember Uncle Bob.
Hi Dad,
This is my third attempt of trying to post a comment. I sent two other comments, but they didn't show up. I think i now figured out why. I think I need some computer classes to get me caught up. I am so proud of you with your BLOG. See you are teaching me new things!! I love your BOG site. I enjoyed reading your blog about uncle Bob. He sure was a kind man. I enjoyed staying with them when I went back to Michigan. He made me feel so comfortable there. I had a great time yesterday in San Francisco. The weather was great and so was the ferry ride. The best part was going with you, mom, Mary, and Joan. Talk to you soon. I love you!!!

Hi Dad!
I don't think the first one I typed posted. I am very impressed that you have your own blog site.
Keep on writing all of your interesting memories and insights.
I really enjoyed our day in San Francisco yesterday and the weather was made to order.
Congratulations on becoming more tech savy than your daughter.
Love,
Mary
Ray,
You truly are an amazing man and an inspiration to the rest of us. I look forward to reading your blog and looking at the world through your eyes..... Its just unfortunate that you havent been able to make the needed transition....from the A's to the Giants....but other than that you have a great outlook on life!
Great Ray, I enjoyed reading all your stories, keep it up. Does this mean less newspaper clippings.
Love you.
Your favorite son-in-law, Manny
Hi Grandpa,
